Apple goes in to try and get paid.

The man throws some cash at you and asks you to leave. He's halfway through a mountain of paperwork, and you're busting up his groove.

Apple doesn't bother thanking him and head out into the street happy and smiling. "Got it!" Then in a slightly more quiet voice, "Lets go somewhere and share it out."

Jochen returns from across the street and follows Apple, "We should also see to Shepard."

[Caput]

"We should. Anybody see a payphone? I'll see if Chrisi knows how to patch up reworks. Could be worse though. If it was one of us meatbags we'd be bleeding everywhere."

[Meester Roboto]

There is a visible smirk on shepherds face when he hears the term meatbags.

"Still hurts like I've been stabbed in the back though."

He does his best to shrug off the pain and show no signs of injurry.

[Caput]

Apple seems faintly surprised by this news. "You know, I couldn't tell. I'll call right now." She heads off looking for a phone. (Knowledge (Local) 17-2=15)

Apple: You finds yourself a phone, and make the call. There is no response.

[Caput]

"Aw, shit. Sorry, but she's not picking up. You know anyone else to heal you?"

[Meester Roboto]

Shepherd shakes his head to say he knows no one.

"I suppose resting is in order."

[Caput]

"Well, I was going to drop in and say hi to her anyway. She probably won't mind if you're hurt, so it's worth a try. Should warn you she's a freak though, so you'll make her nervous. C'mon." Apple leads the way to the house of strange.

You reach the house of strange. It is purple, two story, and has an aluminum doiley on the mailbox, similar to a halfway exploded satellite dish made out of beads and foil. There's also a doormat, brown straw, with the phrase "Leeches Unwelcome." No one passing by appears to be looking at the house, as if they don't acknowledge it's existence it won't be there to bother their poor pitiful minds.

Jochen stands back from the house, "you sure she is gonna wan't me around?"

[Caput]

"Nope. I'm sure she doesn't, but it'll be fine. She won't hang around long with Shepard here anyway. You guys wait over here. Don't want her to freak out at surprise visitors." She knocks on the door, reaching over the bristly mat so she doesn't have to rest her tail on it. "Wait, you guys don't have any leeches, right? Or ticks or mosquitoes or anything?"

[Fragmaster01]

Apple: There is no response except a muffled shuffling, and soft banging on wood from the inside. You note the warning label isn't on the door handle, so presumably nothing's going to blow up in your face should you enter.

Jochen gives himself a quick look over, "Don't think so..."

[Caput]

"Oh, Jesus, what this time?" Apple touches her satanic cross before opening the door and peering inside.

[Fragmaster01]

Inside is a beautiful place, a neon green room with fuzzy purple carpeting, nice and soft to the touch. The furniture in the room appears to have been sucked into a pile of plastic, wood, and diatribes on the workings of the universe, complete with a bookcase leaning against the pile like some demented fort. The whole scene is lit by a red lava lamp ducttaped to the ceiling, with a few glowsticks hanging on the handle of a door in the back.
The banging sound is coming from inside the fort. Something wants to get out.

[Caput]

"Oh dear, what have you caught this time? People own those pets, you know." Apple carefully avoids standing under the lava lamp and shifts some of the the furniture to release whatever's inside.

[Fragmaster01]

Out from under the bookcase rolls an orange and green colored ferret, with odd wings in place of the front legs and cute little midget hands coming out of the ends of the wings. Mini-ferret wyvern? It seems relieved at its freedom and angered at the world.
"There you are. Silly world was blocking my transmissions for help. What took you so long, Apple?" Her voice is squeaky, yet undeniably angry and adorable.

[Caput]

Apple lies on the floor to be eye to eye with the strange creature. "...What the hell did you do this time? Why are you orange?"

[Fragmaster01]

She sighs, and flaps up onto your hand. "I was trying to summon a wonderful winged companion. My little spy in the fight against good. Stupid broken spell had the summon periphery set to me, so now I'm floating out there somewhere in the ether while little orange gets to be around. In my attempt to open this foolish door to complain to the shopkeeper, I managed to pull all the other furniture open first. Nothing aims right these days, Apple, and I know who's behind it!"

[Caput]

Apple strokes down her friend's back with a finger and speaks in her soft, calming voice. "OK, well, reason I was late is I never got a message. I came here because I've got a friend who's hurt. Remember I told you I was taking a job with Shepard? Well there's a big hole in him. So'll light you a cigarette while you get changed back and then you can help him as a reward for saving you, kay?"

[Fragmaster01]

"Silly Apple, this involves questing! The shopkeeper's to blame for his broken spells, and we must go assail him! To arms, dear snake! Your new pets as well!"
She gets on your shoulder and makes a dramatic pose!
Apple has gained Title: Perch.

Apple laughs. "OK, well Shepard can't go questing when we can see through him. Can you try and mend him first?"
