Chapter 1: Sellendelline's Secret

Fynn takes the opportunity to lay into the black robed ghost with some cold, as it's about all he has left. "Thank you very much, miss, now let get this over with."

*Ray of Frost - 1d6+Int ICE, and slow until next turn. Int / Fort. R10.

Note: Enemy has vulnerable to ice 5.

The creature's robe is now stiff with cold. It shakes in pain as the ray punches through it. It's sword arm is trembling. It's bloodied.

Fynn- Just as your feeling good about that, your ass touches the floor. Since you're still theoretically standing up, this could be a problem.


The grotesque glares furiously at Talon and it's moaning rises to that painful and disorientating pitch again. Talon's mouth opens wider and wider. She could fit somebody's head in there. As the noise dies down, the creature glides off into the darkness and out of sight.

Talon- This feels... strange, but not painful. 22 damage, ongoing 5 psychic and dazed.

Theorid- You feel addled again. Ongoing 5 Psychic and dazed.

Fynn- You manage to shut the voice out this time. You're not letting that bastard thing melt you even more.


The Robed creature swings for Fynn again and its sword passes through his wrist.

Fynn- Your fingers feel weak. That could be the melting as easily as the sword. 11 damage.


Pharra charges the robed monster, leaps into the air and hits it with a flying kick, ripping away the fabric on its back. He's still roaring like a mad thing.
Everyone gets +2 to attacks on their next turn.


Theorid's turn.

Gritting his teeth, Theorid holds position, invoking Erathis' grace to salve his wounds!

(Healing Word: I surge+13.)

(Failed Ongoing/Dazed Save; No Longer Bloodied.)

The moaning continues from the darkness. The weather outside is getting nastier as the battle goes on.

Talon's turn.

Talon looks frustrated now. She tries to push her mouth back together. She gives up. She calls forth a Thunderstorm Spirit which shoots lightning bolts into the grotesque;

attack: 14 + 7 + 2 - 5 = 18 v. Ref

Damage: 5 + 7 = 12 lightning.

If hit the energy of the thunder flows into Talon's bear so that if the sword ghost is hit it takes an extra 1d6 lightning damage. His fur stands on end.

The lightening briefly illuminates the dark room. The bolt never gets close to its target.

Fynn's turn.

Fynn takes advantage of his small size, and scoots away from the robed guy, placing it away from him, and in a perfect spot to get blasted.
Shifty: Shift one square at will. Minor Action.
*Glitterdust - 1d10+Int RAD, blind for 2 turns. Cannot hide or invis(save ends). Int / Ref. R20 Burst 1.

The robed guy does not like this. It is bad for his health. He tries to follow Fynn and get revenge, but in doing so he exposes his back to Pharra. That, it turns out, was a mistake. He lets out a weirdly quiet scream as he's torn in half. A little bit of black mist comes out of the robe, but otherwise he seems to have had no body at all. His sword shatters into glittering dust as it hits the floor.

A blob of ghost flesh sails through the darkness and lands on the floor. Pharra runs across it and into the darkness, apparently gleefully happy.

Everyone gets +2 to attacks again.

Theorid's turn.

Theorid lights a sunrod, head clearing as he does so!

(Passed Dazed/Ongoing save.)

The darkness lights up. Beyond the door is a square room about 50ft across wit ha passageway at the other side. The last of the ghosts is standing in the centre, not looking happy to have been illuminated.

Talon's turn.

Talon snarls at the creature and bounds within range. Her bear runs to the creature clubbing it with its massive paws.

Bear Fang Defense: 2 + 7 + 2 = 11 (Wis v. Fort)

Bears are clumsy things.

The creature shrugs off the bear's blow without any apparent effort. Fynn's turn.

Fynn launches out a bolt of frost, trying to pick himself up off the ground, though only one of those things seems to have gone well.

The bolt hits the ghost in the chest. There's an appreciable weight of ice weighing it down now. It is bloodied.

It throws goo at Theorid, missing him completely.

Pharra charges it, but he too fails to hit.

Theorid's turn.

Theorid closes on the ghoulish grotesque! As he hefts his mace, a pure light flares on it for a moment, and he strikes the grotesque, the Cog of Erathis flaring to guide attacks to it!

(Righteous Brand hits for 10 damage; Talon gains +3 to Melee attack rolls against the Grotesque until the end of my next turn.)

The mace leaves an angry burn on the ghostly flesh of the ghost!

Talon's turn.

Talon sends her bear in for another blow, the caves shake with his roar,

Protecting Strike: 3 + 7 + 2 = 12 wis v. will

She looks displeased.

Nothing happens at all.

Fynn's turn.

More frost! Fynn wonders why this thing isn't dead yet.

The goddamn thing still wont go away, in spite of the fact that it's now covered head to toe in frost. It misses Pharra, who tears a massive chunk out of it's stupid side. It's still standing.

Everybody gets + 2 next turn.

Theorid's turn.

Holding his ground, Theorid lunges, maces sweeping once and twice through the spirit's form!

(Twin Strike on Grotesque: 34 and 31 vs. AC for 13 and 13 damage.)

Theorid slashes the monster in half! It melts into a pale grey soup and evaporates.

Pharra is breathing heavily and loudly. "Where did secret go? Fyn... what the-? Where did secret go?" He sounds frantic and not quite sensible.

Talon whoops with triumph at the kill. She then hears Pharra's desperation and turns to listen. She runs back to the first door and peers out into the ashy, rainy, quagmire.

"Shit. We have to find her. Everyone move." Pharra jogs out into the rain.

Talon jogs out after him. She uses her Wild Senses to search for tracks...

Perception: 7 + 17 = 24
